Artist's Comments

Just shot this the other night in one of my favorite locations. Btw, he's an amazing sport when i get ideas that require people, or when I'm just randomly snapping pics.

The lights outside the window made it feel like a perpetual dawn, even though the time was only nearing the smallest of AM's. Broken glass was a plenty, but light was a rare commodity. Had to shoot this at ISO1000 unfortunately. I did what I could to control the noise, and it guess it's ok.

Thoughts?

Thanks! The building we were in was sooo dark, and then there were these windows with all this light, it was awesome.

This is a nice shot.
I understand what you mean about the grain and noise being just a bit over-done but that's hard to fix with lights in dark area's and a shot without a flash. I like how dynamic the piece is. The composition is nice and the placement of the model works. I like the shattered glass centered, it pulls the eye there instead of to the model. I also like how dynamic the lighting is in different parts of this shot in both color and texture. Also, tell your model nice hand positioning. It looks so much better/delicate than if all fingers we're together in a grip.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful, and insightful critique! I got lucky with the model here, he came up with the pose all on his own. he usually kind of does, and the shots are always really good, or at least i think they are.
